I’m discovering Tov
How it works, what is free, what stays private.
- Getting started
Create your invitation, one question per screen, with or without an account
The celebration, what you send, the names, the design, when, where, who invites, the program: the creation flow, what stays with you, what is never sent.
- Getting started
Free during the beta: what is included, what comes next
During the beta, Tov is free: no credit card, no ads, no resale of data. What is included, the real limits, and what we do (and do not) know about afterward.
- Your data
Who sees my invitation? Draft, links, moments, memory page
A draft is private. A published invitation opens with a link, is not indexed by Google and shows each household only its own moments. Plus the memory page.
- Your data
Your data in plain words: what Tov keeps, who sees it, exporting and deleting
What Tov records, who receives it, what you can export and what deleting an event or an account really removes. With no promise it cannot keep.
I’m planning my celebration
Prepare, invite, send on WhatsApp, follow the replies.
- By celebration
Organizing a wedding with Tov: moments, alerts, designs
One invitation, several moments (henna, chuppah, reception, Sheva Brachot), each with its own audience. What Tov checks for a wedding, and how to set it up.
- By celebration
Organizing a brit milah with Tov: the name, the moments, Shabbat
A brit milah comes together fast and with care. Writing “The parents”, what Tov does with the baby’s name, the suggested moments and the Shabbat alert.
- Step by step
Choosing a design and colors
Tov offers invitation designs played for real, with your names in them. How to compare them, change the colors, adjust the symbols and switch designs later.
- Step by step
Your words, a verse, בס״ד: and why the divine Name is written ה׳
Writing a note to your guests, choosing a verse or a blessing, adding בס״ד, signing with your titles: what Tov offers and how it handles the divine Name.
- Step by step
Shabbat, Yom Tov, Omer: what Tov flags, and why
Tov checks your date against the Jewish calendar and warns you: Shabbat, Yom Tov, Omer, Three Weeks. What it checks, confirms, and leaves to your rabbi.
- Step by step
The moments of your celebration, and who sees them
A moment is one part of the celebration with its own day, time, place, and audience: “All guests” or “Selected guests”. How to choose them and who sees what.
- Step by step
Publish your invitation, or make it private
Publishing makes the invitation reachable by anyone with a link: it sends no message. What you need to publish, what guests see before, and how to go back.
- Step by step
Send a save-the-date: announce the date before the invitation
Create a save-the-date, send it over WhatsApp household by household or with a group link, track who saves the date, then switch to the full invitation.
- Step by step
Adding your guests: type a name, paste a list, from your contacts
Three ways to add your households: type a name, paste a list (WhatsApp, Excel, Notes) or start from your contacts. Then the list and each household’s details.
- Step by step
Personal links: what they are, forwarding, and groups
Each household has its own link: what it opens, how to find it, why it shouldn’t be posted in a WhatsApp group, and what isn’t possible (yet).
- Step by step
Send the invitation on WhatsApp, household by household
Tov prepares each household’s message with its personal link; you send it yourself in WhatsApp, then confirm. Opening WhatsApp is not the same as sending.
- Step by step
Reminding households who haven’t replied: 3 at most, never within 48 h
How to remind households who haven’t replied: who gets a reminder, how many times, and what Tov does (and does not do) for you. Nothing goes out without you.
- Step by step
Following your replies: reading the screen
People coming, households pending, new replies, next step, exports: how to read the follow-up screen and what each number really counts.
- Troubleshooting
Confirming your email address: what it’s for
Sending on WhatsApp doesn’t wait for your email to be confirmed. Why to confirm it anyway, how to get the link again, and what to do if it expired.
I received an invitation
Open the link, reply, change your mind, find your link again.
- Guest guide
You received an invitation: opening it and replying
A Tov invitation opens from a WhatsApp link: no app, no account. How to open it, read the program, reply for your household and add it to your calendar.
- Guest guide
Changing your reply, or replying for a relative without a smartphone
You said “yes” and things changed? Reopen your personal link and fix it. And how to reply for a relative with no smartphone, as a guest or as the organizer.
- Troubleshooting
“Invitation not found” or “personal”: what to do
The pages you may see when you open an invitation link (not found, personal, ended), what they mean and what to do, whether you are a guest or the organizer.
Quick questions
Short answers. For the detail, open the matching guide.
Creating an invitation
Pick a design, write your words, publish: no app to install.
How do I create my invitation?
The flow asks one question per screen: the celebration, what you want to send, the names, the design, when, where, who is inviting, the program, then a last look. You can do it without an account: the account is only asked for when you save, and nothing is sent to your guests while you create.
Does it work in Hebrew?
Yes. The invitation exists in French, Hebrew (right to left, with real Hebrew typefaces), English and Spanish. Its language is the one you choose for the celebration; you can set a different one for a household. Tov does not guess your guests’ browser language.
Can I change the design after publishing?
Yes, at any time: your guests see the new design as soon as they open their link. If your invitation uses a design that is no longer offered, Tov asks you to confirm, because you will not be able to go back.
Inviting and following the replies
Follow the replies, send reminders, stay in control of who’s coming.
How do my guests reply?
Each household opens its personal link and replies, moment by moment, directly in its browser: no app, no account. The number of people shown is the one you planned; the household can correct it.
Can I remind guests who haven’t replied?
Yes, from “Follow up” or “Send”. Tov prepares the message; you send it yourself in WhatsApp. At most three reminders per household, never less than 48 hours apart. Nothing goes out without you.
Does RSVP automatically assume a plus-one or a family?
No. You define the people invited in each household. The personal link lets them reply for that household, for the moments you planned: nothing is assumed on your guests’ behalf.
Sending on WhatsApp
How the link goes out, and why a single distribution channel.
Do my guests need to install an app?
Never. They receive a WhatsApp link, open it in their browser, reply. That’s it.
Why only WhatsApp, and not SMS or email?
Tov prepares a message that you send yourself in WhatsApp. Integrated email or SMS sending is not available for now.
Can I paste the link into an existing WhatsApp group?
No. A personal link lets someone reply for its intended household. Send it privately to that household, not to a group containing several households.
Account and data
What’s free, what Tov keeps, and how to export or delete everything.
Is it really free?
The beta is free: create, send on WhatsApp, follow the replies and export them as CSV, with no credit card and no ads. “Free” means free during the beta; no price is announced today.
What about my data?
It is never sold. Your guests and their replies are visible only to you, to your collaborators and, through its own link, to each household. The database is hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt); other providers, such as Cloudflare or Google, help run the service. The “Your data in plain words” guide gives the details.
Can I export my data and delete my account?
Yes, in the settings, Privacy section: an export of your data (JSON file) and account deletion, confirmed by an email and then immediate. A few traces remain, for example photo files and the technical history of the database: the guide lists what stays. An event and its data are kept until you delete it; you can do so at any time, immediately.
Can’t find your answer?
Write to us: a real person replies, not a bot.
Shall we get your invitation ready?
Free during the beta, no ads.
