Confirming your email address: what it’s for
Sending on WhatsApp doesn’t wait for your email to be confirmed. Why to confirm it anyway, how to get the link again, and what to do if it expired.

Confirming your email address proves it is really yours. You don’t need to have done it to send your invitations: sending on WhatsApp works with an unconfirmed address, because you tap every message yourself from your own phone.
You can prepare everything and send everything on WhatsApp without having confirmed your address. Do confirm it anyway: it only takes a moment.
Why confirm it
- To invite a co-organizer: Tov sends them an invitation by email, and only does so from an account whose address is confirmed.
- For the security of your account: changing your address asks for your password, and your current address approves the change. If it isn’t confirmed, you may not be able to recover your account.
- To receive Tov’s emails: reply notifications, sign-in links, password reset.
Getting the link again
Step 1
Find the email from Tov
Tov wrote to the address on your account right after you signed up. Also look in your junk folder (on Gmail, the Promotions tab).
Step 2
Tap the link
The page opens and your address is confirmed. The “Verified” badge appears in your settings.
Step 3
No email? Ask for another one
Open your settings: at the top, the message “Email address not confirmed” offers “Resend the email”. If several links have already gone out in a row, wait about fifteen minutes before asking for another.
Step 4
Wrong address?
In your settings, under “Security & sign-in”, use “Change email address”. You will be asked for your current password. While your address is not confirmed, the link goes straight to the new one; once it is confirmed, your current address has to approve the change first.
If the link has expired
The confirmation link is valid for 24 hours. After that, ask for a new one from your settings with “Resend the email”.
- The email sign-in link, for signing in without a password, is valid for 10 minutes and is only offered to existing accounts.
- The “forgot password” link is valid for 1 hour. Once the password is changed, all your devices are signed out: you’ll need to sign in again everywhere.
- An expired or already-used sign-in link shows a message inviting you to request a new one.

- Step by step
Send the invitation on WhatsApp, household by household
Tov prepares each household’s message with its personal link; you send it yourself in WhatsApp, then confirm. Opening WhatsApp is not the same as sending.
- Step by step
Publish your invitation, or make it private
Publishing makes the invitation reachable by anyone with a link: it sends no message. What you need to publish, what guests see before, and how to go back.
- Your data
Your data in plain words: what Tov keeps, who sees it, exporting and deleting
What Tov records, who receives it, what you can export and what deleting an event or an account really removes. With no promise it cannot keep.
