Getting started

Create your invitation, one question per screen, with or without an account

The celebration, what you send, the names, the design, when, where, who invites, the program: the creation flow, what stays with you, what is never sent.

  1. The screens, one per question
  2. Without an account, then with one

The creation flow is the same full-screen assistant in two places: from the website, without an account, or from your space, once you’re logged in. It asks one question per screen; a bar at the top shows where you are (“2 of 9”), the invitation takes shape next to the question (at the top on a phone), and “Later” (without an account, your entries are kept in the browser) or “Close” (logged in) lets you leave at any time. “Enter” does “Continue”.

Info

No invitation is sent during creation: nobody but you sees what you’re preparing.

The screens, one per question

  1. Step 1

    Which celebration?

Choose the celebration: wedding, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, brit milah, birthday and engagement are visible right away; the others are behind “All celebrations”. Once logged in, you can also “Start from a previous celebration”: the signature, the place, the language and the design are carried over.

  2. Step 2

    What to send

For a celebration announced well in advance (wedding, engagement, bar or bat mitzvah, birthday, other celebration), choose “A save-the-date” or “The full invitation”. Neither is ticked for you, and you can always switch from one to the other. This screen is skipped for the other celebrations (brit milah, pidyon haben, birth…).

  3. Step 3

    The names

Write the names: they appear on every design. For a brit milah, we ask for the parents, never the baby’s name.

  4. Step 4

    The design

The designs offered for your celebration play for real, with your names, in a phone frame. Filter by style, change the colors, tap the invitation to try it, then “Choose this design”. The date, venue and program you see are samples: yours come right after.

  5. Step 5

    When and where?

Enter the date and time, or check “I don’t know the date yet”: the date will then be asked for before you publish. Tov shows the Hebrew date and flags Shabbat and holidays on the screen itself (see the article on Shabbat, Yom Tov and the Omer); for a wedding, an explicit confirmation is asked. The name of the place and its address, with suggestions when they are available; for a save-the-date, the city is enough. Optional here, but needed to publish. The “Venue local time” line shows the time zone; tap it to correct it.

  6. Step 6

    The program

Check the moments of your celebration (chuppah, reception, kiddush…), with their day, time and audience: “All guests” or “Selected guests”. This screen only appears if the date is complete and the celebration offers moments; you can also choose “Skip this step”.

  7. Step 7

    Last look

This is what your guests will receive: open the invitation, listen to the music, try replying. A summary recalls your choices, and each line takes you back to its screen (“Edit”). You can also write “Your words”, an optional note for your guests. The signature of the invitation, required: on whose behalf it is sent. Suggestions are one tap away depending on the celebration (the names, “the couple’s parents”, “the families…”).

A screen only opens once all the ones before it are filled in. The invitation takes shape at every screen: first a card with your details, then the real design as soon as you have chosen it. If the celebration has no moments to offer, or if the date isn’t known, the program screen is skipped; it always is for a save-the-date.

Without an account, then with one

Without an account, everything stays in your browser, for 30 days: nothing is sent to Tov before you sign up. At the end, “Save my invitation” opens sign-up (or “Log in to save it” if you already have an account). When you come back, a “Your invitation is on its way…” page creates your celebration and takes you to your space, at the “My event” step.

If you’re already logged in, it’s “Create my invitation”: the celebration is created right away, as a private draft. A draft stays invisible to your guests until you publish it.

Warning

In private browsing, or if your browser’s storage is blocked, your entries can’t be kept: Tov tells you so and offers to create your account first.

Tip

A confirmation email is requested right after sign-up, without blocking creation. It only becomes necessary when you send the invitations.
